About:
Drawing Tools Photopia’s CAD system includes several drawing tools that can be used either as reference geometry to help the construction or manipulation of other entities or as geometry that directly participates in the optical analysis. The drawing tools provided are: Arc – you can construct an arc by specifying 3 points along its curve or by specifying its center point and the included angle. If you specify the included angle with the mouse, the angle is assumed to be positive and thus always sweeps counter clockwise. You can enter a negative angle and the arc will sweep clockwise. Arcs are always constructed in the XY plane of the view’s coordinate system. Circle – you must specify the center point and radius of the circle. Circles are always constructed in the XY plane of the view’s coordinate system. ß Illuminance Plane – you can quickly draw an illuminance plane in the CPlane by specifying the lower left hand corner and the upper right hand corner of the rectangle. You can also specify the grid name, and column and row settings. Line – you can specify a series of points and a series of individual line segments will be created. Lines can be defined by any arbitrary 3D endpoints. Polygon – created by specifying 3 vertices that can have any arbitrary 3D location.
